One for you, one for me
Christmas shopping. A little salty (last minute, amongst crowds, while fighting with your significant other), a little sweet (giving to the people you love)—but nothing makes it sweeter than a good deal. I’ve talked before how I’m an online shopper primarily, but I’ve yet to figure out how to recreate the bliss that is finding a good bargain in person and walking around with 12 bags full of stuff I never knew I needed until I needed it.
Like overalls! I’m pregnant, you know. (!!). And finding maternity clothes has been a struggle in some ways (pants, mostly).
Wait, let me switch gears. I spent the better part of a recent December Saturday Christmas shopping at Waterloo Premium Outlets. Like any good human being, for every gift I got, I also gifted something to myself.
And guess WHAT. The Waterloo Outlets now has an H&M! Rochester (and beyond) has been without an H&M since my college days (and truly not a day has gone by that I haven’t missed it), and I was so happy to peruse one of my favorite stores in person again.
Overalls! I found what I imagine will be my maternity lewk for the next four months, along with a bunch of other winter pieces (more to come later).

Yes, other people will be receiving some gifts from me this year, as well. A few babies and kiddos will be receiving snowsuits and onesies and dinosaur socks. A couple ladies will get some cozy shirts, beanies, and knit camp socks (my favorite). Some of the important guys in my life, ranging in age from 5-37, will be receiving undies/boxers with pizza/cheeseburgers/fried eggs on them. And Jon is getting a diaper bag. Neat!
It’s actually not a diaper bag. It’s a cool Under Armour backpack that will work perfectly as a diaper bag while not actually looking like a diaper bag. But, he already knows about it and is so into it! He's also getting some other good stuff that he doesn’t know about yet (shhh), and none of it’s diaper related.
This year, Waterloo Premium Outlets is having an Ultimate Holiday Outlet Sale for shoppers from December 14-24 (you just have to pick up a little brochure from the customer service area—I included some of the pages below). There are tons of participating stores with extra savings on top of their already great prices. I certainly took advantage of several of them—H&M, Under Armour, Brooks Brothers, COACH, Old Navy, Gap, J.Crew, Nike, Columbia, and Gymboree, to name a few. And I’m already feeling like I didn’t quite hit it hard enough, so I won’t be surprised if I return before the holiday gets here.
