Decorating for Christmas
Because we moved into our new house (and immediately took a sledgehammer to several walls, lol) last year in early December, we weren't able to decorate for the holidays at all. I've therefore been looking forward to this moment ever since. Conveniently, we very recently got our living room looking and feeling just the way we like it after months of struggling to get it to feel cohesive and cozy enough (it's kind of a tricky, long layout). It made Christmas decorating (which I have always loved anyway) especially easy, fun, and natural. We poured ourselves some boozy eggnog and got to work. It's always the best feeling re-remembering all our favorite ornaments and the memories that go along with them—we've long collected them from everywhere we've traveled to... including Anthropologie at Eastview Mall. And The Shop didn't hurt our Christmas game either, as I've loved incorporating so many of the items in my own space, including the kitchen. There's just something about a festive kitchen this time of year that really gets me. I was even able to sneak in my first ever Charlie Brown-esque "tree" :)
Merry (Early) Christmas and everything else to you and yours.
