Denim on denim

A flannel and jeans is a no-brainer for bopping around this fall (in my case: doing work at my favorite coffee shop, Glen Edith). But something about it feels a bit predictable to me, so I like to be able to make the look a little less-so. I think topping it off with a clashy denim jacket helps to add the note of tomboy imperfection that I'm going for. This, combined with the raw hemmed, slight kick-flare jeans (that I cut myself with a pair of too-long jeans that had the perfect foundation to be cropped), does the trick. In sum, I love the laid back look that's achieved, especially when broken up with unexpected leather loafers (boots may have felt like fall over-kill) and a brown, rather than black, bag.
